I woke up this morning, in a new decade, with an outlook that is so traditional to New Year’s Day. It’s like I can close my eyes and see the future, because I keep thinking about resolutions and what I want to have happen this year.
The above photo was taken by a friend of ours, who is stationed over in Japan in the Air Force. He’s an amazing photographer, and when I saw this picture, I felt a sense of energy. Obviously, it’s a sun rise… and it’s that sun rising on a new day that bring that energy. I immediately felt inspired to sit down and write. It’s just a perfect moment; the sun rising, the clouds, the new year. Ahhh….rejuvenation.
I don’t do resolutions, but seeing that picture makes me think I need to have some sort of plan to put into action.
In the blogosphere, I would like to:
Increase subscribers, Twitter followers, Facebook fans, and Google FriendConnect-ions
Increase opportunities for readers to win fabulous prizes
Increase the rate at which I publish new posts (this one requires a schedule, which I am working on)
Continue to connect and network with amazing bloggers, readers, companies, everyone!
In the real world, I would like to:
Spend more time on my household duties (again, working on a schedule for this)
Enjoy more time with my family, laughing and having fun
Continue our Dave Ramsey journey (post to come!) with gazelle intensity
Not let the little things get to me so much
So there you have it… my plan. The things I want to do. Dangit, my resolutions. I guess I can’t escape that word, can I?
Scroll up and take another look at that sunrise… each day is a beautiful gift, and we are here to make the best of it!
Thanks for coming back! I hope you join the conversation and leave a comment or two!

Love your post and the picture is so beautiful. I agree, we should look at a new day differently rather than just getting up thinking “ugh, time to get up” kinda thing. I will definitely have to view mornings in a better way and enjoy them so the rest of the day can be just as beautiful :)
That is a gorgeous photo!
Happy new year!
Good luck with your resolutions!

Thanks for the nice comments about the photo! A New Year’s sunrise was just too good to pass up. You can see more of that set and a lot others on my Flickr page. Getting that sunrise on camera inspired me to be more active with my photography this year. My page should updated regularly with new shots.
What a beautiful shot of the sunrise. Looking at that photo put me in a place I cannot quite explain. Very Calming.
Just wanted to stop by to say hello. I found you on Riding with Jessica.
Happy New Year!
