First of all, I can’t believe it’s been four weeks! Second, I’m breathing a big sigh of relief today as I sit here to type up this weigh in post. Why, you ask?
I didn’t gain or lose. I know exactly why. I know exactly how to change it. However, mother nature and her not-too-pleasant visitor are causing something called “water retention”, which means the scale isn’t moving. Just another reason to hate her!
I was really nervous stepping on the scale this morning. This is the only week I actually monitored and stepped on every other day, hoping that mother nature would just give me a break. It’s funny how our bodies can trick us. Apparently, when all is said and done, my body should “play catch up”, and if I’ve lost any fat, that will be reflected on the scale. It’s just the water right now.
How come I can’t turn on a faucet and just drain away some water? It’s rude, I tell ya!
All in all, it was a decent week. I earned a beautiful 18 activity points, which blows the 10 from the previous week right out of the water. It wasn’t hard either, it was just finding something I enjoyed and doing it. I figured if I was going to watch TV, why not get on the exercise bike and pedal? 62 minutes later I had traveled 11.5 miles! I should really keep track of the miles, see just how far this journey takes me.
This week is all about good choices, and getting in touch with my support persons. There has to be some one else out there dealing with water retention! Any tips?

For water retention, just make sure you drink a LOT of water (if you aren’t doing so already). It’ll help flush stuff out. If all else fails, try Pamprin right before AF–it’ll help with it also.
I’m doing an entirely different program, but my counselor suggests vitamin B6 during that time of the month – also drinking extra water to help try push out as much as you can!
