Goodbye, 2009!

As 2009 comes to an end, we all reflect on the past months and look ahead to the new year. We gather our friends and family to ring in the new year, and share our resolutions over and over again. It’s such a tradition, even in the blogosphere, that I’d like to take the time to say a few things about 2009.

I began blogging in 2009, right around March I believe. This blog wasn’t created until May, but I had a couple smaller blogs that I just tinkered with. Since it’s creation however, so many wonderful things have happened. I’ve joined Twitter and started networking and connecting with so many other people. I hope that in 2010 that trend continues, and we all continue to grow, learn and connect. I became a mom of the MomTV community, and went from being a viewer, to being a host. It’s been a roller coaster of fun and excitement, and I really can’t wait to see what happens over the next months as MomTV continues to grow.

At the beginning of the year, actually, December 30 2008, we bought our house. We just celebrated our one year anniversary of being homeowners! How exciting! It’s been a typical home ownership so far, with a leaky roof repair in January, annoying neighborhood children, and a plumbing issue that would of course happen while we were on vacation. We’ve also had some great times too… like when my sister and her children came to visit, holidays, bringing home a new puppy. We’ll be in this house for a long time, but I anticipate many small changes (like paint, tile, new bathtub, etc).

2009 has been a year for growth as well… financial growth, personal growth. Friendships were lost and restored, patience was learned, love was given, joy was experienced. It’s important for one to grow and learn from mistakes, and that is something I hope never changes. Granted, I’d like to stop making said mistakes, but hey, hindsight is always 20/20!

So with 2010 just HOURS away, people getting ready to go out and party, I sit here to reflect on the past months. I like to think about the happiness, but also the sadness. It’s all a learning process. Every day brings new adventure and new questions. I really, truly am excited for 2010.

If you are wondering, “Well, what are you resolutions?”, here’s my answer. I don’t like to do them. Why? Well, more then half the time, people just say something to make themselves sound good and never actually follow through. My “resolutions” actually started a week ago, when I silently told myself several things like I’d like to work on and change. I am sure that you will see them over the next couple of weeks, as I blog more about what is going on. Until then…
