I Have Joined Weight Watchers!

March 30, 2010

I did a lot of thinking over the weekend, a lot of weighing (no pun intended) my options and a lot of researching and reading. I have always heard good things about Weight Watchers, and have always been interested. I’m overweight, there are no ways around it. I’m not happy, and I use food to cover up my feelings. I abuse food. I need something that will teach me portion control, that will show me how to have a healthy relationship with fuel. I need this.

It was a sad moment, telling Hubs that I had signed up. I felt like I let him down and was no longer that beautiful girl he fell in love with. I can see just how much I’ve changed, and I can’t help but wonder, “How did I let this happen?” Did I really become THAT lazy? Did I really eat right from the carton, bag, bowl? What was I doing 6 years ago, before I got pregnant, before I gained all of the weight?

In the past, you may have read that I was a part of Mamavation. I have applied twice, only to be let down and feel like a failure. My videos are still out there, my pictures are still out there (and hard to look at). The group of women that stands behind Mamavation are all beautiful, and all moving towards the same goal. However, I can’t help but wonder how much of it has now turned towards going after the swag, and not so much after the healthy lifestyle. I don’t want that, I want the health. I want the years added back to my life. I want to feel good about myself and stop hiding.

If you are a Weight Watchers member, what are your tips? Favorite recipes? Help a newbie out!

Take one day at a time. Focus on your goals and why you want to do this. Work on making changes that will stick with you for a lifetime. You can do this. Let me know if I can help you in any way.

I really liked WW when I did it. I really need to get back on it but I just don’t have the extra change for the registration right now. Good luck!!!

I *love* the weight watcher’s program. Saved my life! My first suggestion is to take it all step by step, learn it as you receive the materials.

Let me know if I can help in anyway — I love helping others!
Blessings.

I too am overweight and am wanting to change my lifestyle and eating habits. I have thought about joining WW but the cost has prevented me from doing so. I may take the plunge if I can talk my DH into it. Please keep us updated on how it goes. I would love to take this journey with you!

Definitely! I’m following the online program, so it’s $20 a month. It’s now in our budget, and we’ll make it work. I’m learning that you don’t have to buy the prepackaged and WW-specific foods to follow the plan. I’ll post about some of those things soon, since I’m only on day 2! :)

Good luck!!! I will be joining as soon as I deliver this baby. I NEED to lose so much weight! It’s hard and it’s embarrassing. But while my boys are young, I want to change things. You get a 6 week head start on me…LOL

My friend is using it and she likes it a lot.

I’m about three pounds away from my goal weight on Weight Watchers. I think I posted a couple of recipes on momdot for you, but I wanted to jump in here and say GO YOU. Kudos to you for taking that first step – it’s hard but it’s so worth it.

Good for you! I did WW awhile back, when my 7 yr old was about a year or so- and I learned so much! Portions were my big downfall, I never knew how bad I was at that until I joined WW. I lost quite a bit, and it was easy and I was cooking better for the family too. I stopped when I got pregnant with my 5 yr old, and really should go back now that the twins are getting bigger- because so am I…
