Tonight’s the Twitter party where the finalists find out who has been voted the top 2 moms! It’s exciting for everybody, even people who have no idea really what is going on because of the chance to win prizes! I’m sure the finalists are nervous, scared, worried, excited, and on the edge of their seat. I hope they know that even if they aren’t picked, they still have an immense support system behind them!
As per the requirements of the Move It and Lose It Challenge, I am supposed to take pictures of my front and back and post them on July 18th and August 23rd. My measurements are to be shared on July 18th, August 9th, and August 23rd. Well, I am going ahead and sharing this information with you today. I will do it again on the 18th for the official start, but for me, this starts now!
First order of business, I lost a pound! I’m a little shocked, I had thought it would be a bit more, maybe 2 because of getting some good walking in. Maybe I need to look at changing up my meals a little bit this week. I had a lot of oatmeal last week (LOVING it!). I did really good on my sodium intake too, and have stopped eating frozen meals. It’s much easier and healthier to fix up a big beast salad for lunch or dinner then throw some frozen brick of God-knows-what into the microwave.
I did something on Saturday that I am really proud of. You may have seen me Tweet or DailyMile.com it, but I jogged/walked 1 mile in 25:04! I can’t remember what my times were back in high school gym class, but I’m fairly certain they were closer to 30:00 because I HATED running, and I hated gym class. I used every excuse in the book. I was the girl who had her period every single time we had to run the mile. Coincidence? I think not!

There ya have it! The last time I took my measurements was June 15th, so almost a month ago! I’ve lost .5 inch from my waist since then, and 1.75 from my hips! I’m excited for this challenge, I basically have my own personal gym with my new treadmill (!!!!), recumbent bike, trampoline, 5lb weights, and ExerciseTV on demand! Bring it on!
