My Blogging Journey So Far

While this site may be new, I have been blogging for quite some time. I’ve used personal journal/diary sites for YEARS (we’re talking 10 or more) to document daily life. I used them as escapes, as places to dream big. As I sit here and think about this site, I realize that I want this site to be where I not only share with others (coupons, deals, savings, reviews) but also where I escape, and where I can dream.

Since I’ve become a blogger, I have found that there are so many communities, so many networks to break into, and so many wonderful women that I have had the chance to talk to and get to know. Twitter has been AMAZING to me, and I love that you can learn and share so easily with others. I love using MomTV.com to watch live shows, and I’ll say it here, I’ve been considering my own show. I’m still working on topic ideas, so if you have any, let me know! I think MomTV has let a lot of women live out the dream of being a talk show host, and being like Oprah. If only we could give away a million dollars and a car, right? :)

Since I’ve become a blogger, I have found my lost love of reading and writing. I can spend hours reading, the same for writing. I find that when I start to write, I can just let so much flow out of me, and quickly. Writing/typing has always been a release for me, and I love that. I love that I can just be me, and just say what I want. I don’t have to hide, or hold my tongue. There is someone out there who feels the same, or who has thought the same thing before and can relate. That’s what’s so great about the blogging community; there are so many different “blogs of life”. We all come from different backgrounds, and have different futures, but right now, we have something in common. For the moms, they can talk about parenting styles, diapers, doctors, playdate drama, etc. For the foodies, they talk about new products, new recipes, failed recipes, favorite restaurants, etc. For the techies, they talk about the latest technology, the latest reviews, etc. But somehow, we are all connected. Whether it’s topical (foodie blog talking about healthy snacks which reaches out to the mom blogger with preschool-aged picky eaters), or just that we all use social media to connect and network, it’s incredible.

I am so glad to be a part of a community of bloggers that it’s a great feeling to know someone out there “gets it”. I love blogging. I love the connections. I love the rewards. I hope I never stop blogging.

Well said. Blogging has always been about getting all those thoughts and feelings out of my head without fear of judgment. It’s only recently that I have used my blog as a tool to connect with other people like myself. Twitter has also been a great tool for that.
