Pregnancy Week 6 – (Not So) Wordless Wednesday

August 18, 2010

This was on Monday, the 16th. It still blows me away. Baby measured 1.05cm from crown to rump, and had a beautiful heart beat of 132bpm! Seeing that little flicker made me cry. I could have bawled big alligator tears if I wasn’t staring so hard at that monitor. Everything looks good. If you wondered about that last beta number… over 19,000. Nurse sounded VERY pleased, and we were both relieved that the doctor wanted an ultrasound versus another beta. Thank you, doctor!

We have an appointment with the nurse midwife next week to do medical and previous pregnancy history, and then the week after that an appointment with the doctor.

Oh yea, I’ve made friends with our toilet. We’re getting nice and personal these days in the mornings. I’m glad I keep it clean! I’ve been sipping ginger ale this morning, and tried Bonine for the first time… that didn’t work. When I was pregnant with Chubbs I ended up in the ER with dehydration and a prescription for Zofran. I’m hoping it doesn’t go that far this time around, and while I’m trying to be all-natural with remedies, I think I’m starting to lean towards accepting the Zofran if needed.

AW! YAY for babies! Have you tried drinking peppermint iced tea? Not the green mint, but the box is white and red and it is Peppermint (Celestial Seasonings). I would make a big glass of that and just sip on it all day long and it helped my nausea immensely.

I hope you find something that works. Congratulations on the baby. :)

Congrats! During both of my pregnancies, I had to carry around a 32oz bottle of water, and keep refilling it. I even had to sleep with a pitcher of water beside the bed. Otherwise, I would be in the hospital for dehydration.

That’s a beautiful picture! Absolutely beautiful! And the perfect start to a baby book. I have no advice on the morning sickness. I was one of those people you hate who didn’t have a touch of it!

Super Excited for you Mandi!!!! Let me know if you need anything! I’m more than happy to bring you saltines to keep by the nightstand! :)

haha I can’t stand saltines, it has to be those Clubhouse crackers. But thank you! When it starts to cool down for fall, let’s start walking again!

How SWEET!! Gosh yes I remember the first time I saw that little peanut I SOBBED! Oh, and the little Preggie Pops things helped me when I was so sick my first (and second) trimester. I think those are still around! LOL

I would be crying tears of joy too! what a beautiful picture! Hope the baby sickness goes easier… I had it almost the whole time, all day… so no cures from me. I like a previous commenter took it as a sign I was still PG. Sweet Hugs!

I was one of the “lucky” people who suffered through all day sickness while I was pregnant with both girls. For the WHOLE TIME. I was put on meds (diclectin since I’m in Canada-it even has a picture of a pregnant lady on it!) i hope you start feeling better!

Aw congrats! I had HORRIBLE ‘Morning’ sickness with my son. I spent 4 months doing nothing but throwing up …. by the time I was seen by the doctor (I didn’t know I was pregnant til I was 3 months along) and all it stopped. I definitely had an angel watching over me for that period cause I lost a LOT of weight and was surprised I didn’t have any complications.
