My son, Chubbs, is not retarded. He is a boy. He is a future chef, race car driver, or musician. He is almost 5 years, incredibly smart, talented, funny, and good-looking. He is not just developmentally delayed, or speech apraxic. He is a child. He deserves more then a label…. Think before you speak, words hurt more then you may think!

Take the pledge… out of respect!

Thanks for helping spread the word on this.
It’s inexcusable how so many people in society accept using the word incorrectly to suite their needs.
My son has Down Syndrome, therefore he has mental retardation.
To say “that’s retarded” with a bad connotation implies retardation is bad, which implies my son is anything other than the perfect human being I have the pleasure of calling my son.
