No, it’s true… it’s week 12 for Mamavation follow-alongs. I will come right out and say it… this week was horrible. It was a horrible week for food choices, so I’ll make the excuse that it was our anniversary. It really was, and we went out for some delicious Buca di Beppo’s Italian (Hubs got the Arrabiata pizza, and I got the penne arrabiata, with a side of mozzarella garlic bread). That was Friday’s lunch. We also found a candy store and got some goodies to enjoy at our hotel later that night. Saturday we went to North Market in downtown Columbus, and while we could have ate everything in site, we were on a mission to get our first taste of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. I sampled the Thai Chili, which was this incredible sweet and spicy ice cream. It was crazy! It was crazy good too. My selection for my small cup was Salty Caramel, which was just perfect. That night we got our favorite Chipotle burritos. I told you it was a bad week for food choices.
On both Friday and Saturday, however, we did a LOT of walking. I so can’t wait for warmer weather so we can go on nightly walks together.
I got on the scale this morning, and yes, it was up by 1 pound. I expected that. Between the poor food choices, and “natural causes” *wink wink*, I expected it for sure. This week I’m going to work off those poor food choices, and figure out how to make a healthier penne arrabiata at home!
Thanks for coming back! I hope you join the conversation and leave a comment or two!

Kudos for taking charge, for being accountable and a pound is not a lot, turn it around,U can DO THIS!! I know you can!

The important thing is you’re not giving up, and that you know these were bad food choices. I’ve had a bad week myself. *sigh* I’m sure our weeks will get better! *hugs*

@Maggie @thebusybabymama, YES! They will definitely get better!
I like your idea of making these things at home. That is what I had to learn to do when I started cause it was so hard for me to give up the foods I liked. Get some Weight Watchers cookbooks. My favorite ones are the comfort foods like macaroni and cheese and pizza. XXOO
I’m going to look into getting some cookbooks, or atleast finding some bloggers who have some good recipes!
I bet we’ve been to the same Buca’s! Brush off that pound and keep on moving. We’re following along!
it is hard to make the right choices when it is a special time like an anniversary, but then again it isn’t about depriving yourself of all the things you enjoy…it is about moderation. you are awesome!

I’ve never been to Buca’s but I totally know what Chipotle is… Used to be addicted to them when we were in Cali… hard to find them now… booo…
One thing I’ve found is that you HAVE to treat yourself once in a while. If you don’t, you go nuts and binge. Yes, a treat is meant to be something small, but you know what.. You know what you did, you’re totally accountable, and you can get back on track this week! Congrats on your anniversary!!!

Don’t you love that we get a fresh start every week, every day even? I think we deserve to treat ourselves every once in a while. The problems come when we forget that treats are occasional and not every day!
Keep up the good work!!

Only a pound, that is great!!!!! I swear I gain 10 pounds when its my time. **wink wink** LOL!
One step back this week is minor….you’ll have 2 step forward next week.
A pound is not bad at all and HEY, you deserve to enjoy yourself! Don’t get upset about, just take the next day and turn it all back around!
One pound and you got some treats. New week, start fresh! You will get back on track. We are here to cheer you on. *I didn’t have the greatest week, either. . . Good luck on a new week!

I so dislike going places where there is temptation especially when food is involved. You’re staying positive and know that you need to work at it. A new day a new you. You can do it!
Oh, girl, you are making me hunnnnnngry! :D It is hard to resist such yummy temptations – and it was a time to celebrate! I’m glad you counteracted some of it with walking, though! A one pound gain isn’t too bad, considering. Now you just hop back on track and find some yummy ways to make that stuff at home and you’ll be set.

We can use anniversaries as an excuse? Awesome! Mine was last week, too! ;) We all have bad weeks! I had yumminess at Applebee’s. It’s no big deal, we just start over! *hugs*
