Weekly Weigh & Mamavation Sistahood

June 14, 2010

I hate my scale sometimes. I bought a new one because I didn’t like the old one (actually, it was dieing… numbers kept bouncing around). I didn’t gain, and I didn’t lose, and I worked my butt off. I looked back at my food though, and I did have a couple high sodium items near the end of the week, and also enjoyed fro-yo. I like keeping track of what I eat so I can see where the problems are. This week is all about fresh produce, and eating as unprocessed as possible.

This was my dinner tonight (Monday):

In the bowl are delicious baby spinach leaves with light balsamic vinaigrette. On the plate is an apple, and a Gorton’s tilapia fillet. I was in a hurry (and really hungry!) so I microwaved the tilapia. Bad idea. The edges were SO dry! Next time I’ll just have to heat the oven and wait the 20 minutes.

As I’m writing this I just learned that a friend’s infant (born at the end of May) needs to have open heart surgery. If everyone could say a prayer for them, they need it. This is their first baby, and she was there for me when I was pregnant.

Head up! You know what you need to change, so change it!

Be careful on those prepared tilapia fillets…they could be loaded with lots of extra salt, etc. Tilapia is so yummy and so easy to cook and season yourself!

Oh I know, but I forgot to grab a fillet out of the freezer to thaw and I had these from a sale + coupon situation. It’s better then a Chipotle burrito, which is what the Hubs had!

I’m in the same boat. I know I have to much sodium. Ugh It’s so hard to cut that out. I hope your friends baby has a good surgery and recovers fast. *hugs*

Definitely praying for your friend! Poor baby. :(

Spinach/mix green salad is my FAVORITE! I have it for every meal but breakfast . . . and, I love making my own vinaigrette. So easy and I can control everything that’s in it.

Have a great week!

Your friend definitely has prayers from me, I have a history of CHD in my family and having a child go in for open-heart is sad. I wish the little one a speedy recovery.

Staying away from the overly-processed foods is a great goal this week. It is almost summer and there is some good fresh food out there.
