Mamavation is the newest child of BookieBoo (Leah Segedie). The Mamavation Mom will be followed (think Big Brother) by a team of personal trainers, coaches, and a cheerleading squad to learn healthy habits and lose weight (think Biggest Loser). For two months, this mom will be challenged, and everything will be documented using vlogging, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, BookieBoo, MomTV, and MomActive Blog Talk Radio Show. Talk about PRESSURE!
It’s that pressure, though, that has drawn me to this. For a very long time, I have said that I need a push. That I need someone behind me yelling at me telling me to get my butt moving. I think Mamavation was made for me.
To apply, I had to make a video. You will find that at the end of this post. My video is raw, one take footage. I, of course, added a title and fancy credits, but you will see me start to cry. After I filmed my video, I had a break down. I lost it. I bawled like a little baby upstairs in my bedroom. My camera cut off right before the tears started flowing, and for that I am thankful. It would have made for a sore sight, I’m sure.
Back to the point – my video is me, sitting in my bedroom, no makeup, my hair in pulled up, just talking. I ramble, I stutter, I trip over my own words, but that is me. That is the first video confessional of my weight and my struggle with infertility.
So after you view my video, please go check out Mamavation and help me become one of the 4 contestants announced on July 22nd. Voting starts on July 22, and the winner will be chosen on July 30th!
Help me become the Mamavation Mom! Tell BookieBoo on Twitter to PICK ME (I am @AWelbaum)! Re-tweet it until the 22nd, tell everyone you know! Don’t forget to comment here! Feel free to link from your site to mine, or post my video on your site if you support me!
If I am not chosen, I will be following along with BookieBoo and the Mamavation Mom, and embark on my own lifestyle changing journey.

Go get them!
You deserve EVERY BIT of the title of Mamavation Mom! You are an amazing woman, mother, and wife. Since High School you have come a long way in terms of adulthood and you bless others with your love and concern for their well being. I really hope you get the honor of the title, Mamavation Mom! Love you!

Good luck! Getting the motivation is the first step and sometimes the hardest.

I agree. Your video is very moving. YOu can do it! I know exercisinf hurts the first few times only because your body has to get use to it first. But trust me when I say, the burn and pain is so worth it inthe end. Motivating only and empowering. Your family is behind you, thug it out and stay string no matter what happens with the contest. You are a super woman and you will achieve this goal.
We are a community and all of us will be following mamavation! Thank you for your video – I am also 5 feet tall! Woohoo I found another 5 footer!
I am also a shorty…5’1″, and EVERY OUNCE shows when you are overweight…there’s nowhere for it to go but OUT! I am so excited to take this journey with you, and want to offer my support regardless of who gets “titled”. Hugs and kudos to you on your VLOG!!!
Good Luck! Visiting from the MD network!
